Tabler has been updated. It now uses 4 spaces for indentation which helps a lot when merging your translations. Please update :smile:

I'm checking my translations, and much of what I had uploaded is missed. For example all the work of the addon "medical" is like before I upgrade.

But the actual translate is different.

I think the original system in AGM is more safe. Collaborators only can modifiy the ACE3/master branch with the approval of the owners creating Pull request. with actual system, exist differents versions of the same files.
Is only my suggestion, i do not know anything about programming, and almost nothing on Github;)

P.D: I updated again the medical addon. Only this was the problem.

Removes the - oh so hated - xml comment and yields better exceptions (where and what) when xml files aren't valid.

With the actual version of ACE3, in the Tabler if i select Translation Progress this not show any graphic, only happen with the last ACE3 Dev version. Is only me?

It's because all strings are translated and thus none are missing (graphic show only how many are missing in given language).

No, we can only add languages supported by vanilla arma itself. Basically only those on the list above.

A note regarding zeus strings: Some of them have existing translations that might need updating to match the english strings (they were taken from elsewhere when functionality was moved, but the message isn't exactly the same). They should carry the same general message already though so it's not a big deal

Question to the Hungarian translators: Do we have to use the long ü, and ö-s.
Edit: And if i´m using tabler, how can i add comments if i correct already translated words and i want to give a reason

@Garzog Hungarian has separate letters for every phonetic.
In comparison:
Ö is by pronouncation similar to the letter "i" in "Bird", whereas Ő is similar to "oe" in "Boeing" as it's a long form of "ö".
Ü is basically the same phonetic as the German "ü", and "ű" is its long form in the same manner as before.
If it gives trouble with some scripts, fonts, or whatever, you may be able to cut the letters "short", but it may be odd to read for some users.

As to chime in, I'm waiting for the Windows 10 update because I broke my Git installation on 8.1 and Tabler doesn't run on any other OS, as far as I know. Not too keen on doing manual edits.

Just for clarification, i am a native myself and know the diference betwenn the long and the short verion, but i´m living in germany for 18 years now and therefor have a keyboard with a german layout which makes it difficicult to use the long versions.
So i´ll do the translation with the short versions only if that is ok.

Tabler should work just fine on any Windows OS, not sure about Unix though. @bux can confirm.

It's a .net application. Tabler will only run on windows till .net core is widely available on unix.

@Garzog Without a rebase, you'll have to look for differences between the main branch and my branch on your own. My branch is almost a month old and I'm not going to start using command-line stuff for extra complexity (and I have about no idea how).

I want to translate ACE3 into [traditional Chinese] and [simplified Chinese].

But question is, when I make ARMA3's localized. I was translate on English's bar.

So if I add new language(like ChineseT & ChineseS), if is possible to let us to see that?
(because ARMA3 don't have Chinese, so we can't adjust setting to chinese)

@GodofMonkeys There's another guy (Jason He) who contacted us on facebook about the same thing, to translate ACE3 to chinese. Maybe you should talk to him and organize your efforts in the spirit of open source development.

I think you would have to translate the <English/> node in the stringtable.xml files, there's no other way, as you've already stated, you have no way to set Arma 3 to chinese.

Do the fonts in Arma (Purista, etc.) support Chinese characters?

Unfortunately no. The only way would be replacing the localization of another language.
Arma 2 had japanese entries for some strings. I have no idea if they are selectable though.

For the record. There is a CfgLanguages class in config. It only respects hard-coded entries though:

Greetings to all of you who are interested in translating the ace 3 mod ! before hand, my gratitude to bux for letting me know there are other guys who is also putting their effort in translating the mod. I'm one of the member of MSUOC group who translated almost 100% of ace 3 mod couple weeks ago(JasonHe, that is me). we have already release the translated version of 3.2.1. following is the download page: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4006365555

for some reason we cannot make a separate mod to translated the ace 3 original mod. so in this case, the technique we applied is replacing the ENGLISH with Chinese in xml. file.

feel free to download our version and give me the feedback on it. Let's join force together to make Chinese in-game !

PS: our translation is on the basis of the mod named ARMA III 中文语系 版本2.0. so, if u guys wanna check the quality of the translation, u have to load CBA_A3 and ARMA III 中文语系 版本2.0

I have a question, do you have plan to let all stringtable.xml into one file?
Just like official language file. One ace_language.pbo contain all localization text.

I ask this question because I and my friend translate ACE into Chinese, our way is overwrite English bar to let Chinese show up. So when you update new ACE version, we must check 101 file one by one to fix or add new text.

If you can merge all to one stringtable.xml, we can use compare tool(I use WinMerge) to quickly check.

@GodofMonkeys I don't think that will happen as it would make it unorganized and harder to work on or us. There are definitely tools that allow you to diff multiple files at once.

Looks like 1.62 allows Korean and Japanese to be selected and BIS has added stringtables for them:

@classicarma Seems like you used lower-case "j" in one of them https://github.com/acemod/ACE3/blob/9d37d91c71470376021911d579204d8d506548de/addons/overpressure/stringtable.xml#L6 and it's picking it up as a separate entry. You can fix that by changing it to upper-case "J" as it should be.

the heaviest work for translation is in translating the types of magazines and ammunition luckily 50% was done

Yup, located missing strings and even found one typo I made...

Now just shotgun shells that are translated only in Chinese and Japanese.
