Xowa: Question-Suggestion-Small Bug Report: Is it possible to see the Summary in Commons? Categories?

Is it possible to show it the same way (without "Download" "use this file" etc.) as seen in the link? Sometimes I really want to know the date of images, but the current build of XOWA-Commons doesn't support it.
But, my biggest wish for Commons is to support Categories like this one here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:M%C3%BCnsterplatz_(Bonn)?uselang=de
I don't know if you automatically have to download these images using Web-Access. If you do, I'd say, XOWA should not download the full resolution images unless you want to. However. Are they already stored in the image-Wiki database, as if you were not using Web-Access? As far as I know, they are not, because, in the "Preview" below there are no images shown although I have access to internet. But you know better!

It should work. XOWA will show the metadata by default. See the screenshot below.

Yeah, that's a file / future enhancement. It's the same issue as #164 wherein I don't want to download hundreds of MB of images for a page. Especially for Commons b/c

  • The Category pages can be quite huge
  • Most people don't use Commons Category

My Commons is from 2017-05, so I can't really think of a reason why it's so bugged. I never used to have a working Commons like yours in the Screenshot. As far as I remember!

I couldn't reproduce this on my side. Can you try doing the following?:

  • Go to home/wiki/Help/Contents
  • Change the font size on this page

If it still fails, go to home/wiki/Special:XowaSystemData?type=log_session and paste the contents here

If it doesn't fail, then it might be a problem with your commons.wikimedia.org file. Try the following:

  • Close XOWA
  • Delete commons.wikimedia.org-file-user.xowa (or rename it to something like commons.wikimedia.org-file-user-ignore.xowa).
  • Reopen XOWA
  • Go to whatever commons page you were viewing before
  • Try to change the font size

It only happens when you view an image by clicking on it. So if you change the Font Size when you go to the Main Page of Commons, everything is fine. That's what I found out.

I do not think I can avoid redownloading Commons. I will just download a newer build in the future. I would have to delete Commons completely then. That should solve all my problems!

That is very strange. I've not seen it generate an empty log.

I think there may be something wrong with your XOWA. Can you try downloading and unzipping the XOWA app package again?

One other thing you can do. Rename (or delete) the file-user.xowa files from commons and de.wikipedia.org. For example:

  • C:\xowa\wiki\commons.wikimedia.org\commons.wikimedia.org-file-user.xowa
  • C:\xowa\wiki\de.wikipedia.org\de.wikipedia.org-file-user.xowa

I think there may be something wrong with your XOWA. Can you try downloading and unzipping the XOWA app package again?

One other thing you can do. Rename (or delete) the file-user.xowa files from commons and de.wikipedia.org. For example:

By just deleteting those two files. Lol. Funny. Why didn't I do this in the first place...
