Xowa: Suggestion: Let XOWA automatically delete images downloaded from Commons after 1 or 2 days

To save up space, wouldn't it be useful if XOWA automatically deletes all images downloaded in the last 1 to 2 days (configurable?), or a option to delete all images eventually? Or is this a bad idea?

XOWA does something like this already. Try the following:

  • Go to home/wiki/Special:XowaCfg?grp=xowa.files.general
  • The Info will tell you how much "cache" XOWA is using for images
  • You can either "clear" the entire cache, or "reduce" it to a certain level. There is no option to delete for the past two days (or any other time interval)
  • You can also customize the amount of space used on this page as well. For example, the default is to use 100 MB for cache, but you can lower it to something like 25 MB. However, I'd recommend not lowering it too much, because it could have performance implications.

Hope this helps.

Ah. Cool stuff! Thanks for making me aware of that. Good to know how much space the image folder takes.
I take back, what I said. We don't need the auto-deletion after 1-2 days.

Cool. Good to hear. Thanks.
