Xaringan: En-dash and em-dash in presentation

Hi, and thanks for yet another great package, Yihui!

I am wondering, is there any way to get an en-dash or a an em-dash in a Xaringan presentation? Since '--' and '---' have other purpsoes, I assume one has to do something different than in ordinary RMarkdown files, but I haven't figured out how.

I guess you could always use the html codes? – and — should give you the desired result.
