When Blogger plan user tries to map a .com domain (or other "non-.blog" domain) to their site, Personal plan is automatically added at the checkout. This is expected behaviour – since Blogger plan allows .blog domains only.
It would be great if we could display a little message why the Personal plan is added at the checkout.
Personal plan is automatically added and also a message explaining _why_. As a bonus, we could also let the user choose other plan than Personal, e.g. Premium or higher.
Personal plan is automatically added without any context information displayed to the user.

We do mention in /domains/add/
that a "Personal plan is required", but this is very easy to miss.

Interesting! I don't remember this information being there - maybe it's something new? 🤔
maybe it's something new?
I don't think so, but I'm also not 100% certain. I don't expect users to be reading that though; it's quite easy to miss. The "Use a domain I own" one doesn't mention anything about a Personal (or higher plan) required either.
@ivan-ottinger @mrfoxtalbot For these users who were confused about not being able to map a non-blog domain with their Blogger plan, do you know if they ended up upgrading or cancelling?

I checked all four interactions and 2 out of 4 users upgraded to Personal plan. The other two stayed on the Blogger plan.
@ivan-ottinger Thanks for looking into it!
