We use the translation facilities provided by language.Add - I don't know how to add the strings for other languages but theoretically it wouldn't be too hard.

The problem is that we don't have enough resources to be able to translate all the text ourselves - I'm sure we'd welcome translations (assuming we can easily integrate them into our source code without having to change every file that uses a translatable string) but it seems very unlikely that anybody on the team would do this.

(That being said, I think we do have some Swedish, Norwegian and Ukrainian people on the team. We might be able to.)

oh, thanks you!!

What language is "laungage"? :)

Translating to swedish (and norwegian I believe as well) is pointless since English is mandatory in school here. Everyone knows it. Other languages where they don't learn english in school, like german, and russian on the other hand, could be useful.

We do learn English in school, Div. (I'm German)
How do you think Tomy and I are communicating with people on the web?
(To be fair, I did tell you that I didn't learn much English in school...)

However, most people here don't care much for actually learning English and might be uncomfortable with English. And I am fairly sure it is the same in every non-English-speaking country. In some it is just worse than in others.

I've heard it isn't mandatory in germany, and that was supposed to be why no one I met while I was in germany knew english. I couldn't get a special order at any of the 10+ mcdonalds I went to :( I just had to say "cheeseburger" and "coke" that was the only two words they knew.

In sweden you can literally walk up to any random person and speak english with them perfectly fine. (assuming they didn't recently move to sweden from some other non-english-speaking country)

@AbigailBuccaneer if there is still interest in this, I could set up community based translation for you.

(Users translate strings and vote on other users translation. After some time translations are automatically pushed to the repository, and are automatically applied in Game to users in which pulled the commit)

As you are already using language.Add this shouldn't get too difficult

We had been thinking of doing i18n for a while now, but what service/tool would we use?

Garry's Mod uses crowdin (source).

As it seams that there's still some interest I'll create a fork, set up translation and than create a pull request.

https://github.com/Info-Screen/wire-translation

Ok things seem to work.

I'd like to test it a bit, before I submit my pull request.
So everyone who is interested in translating: https://weblate.info-screen.me/engage/wiremod/

Current translation status: Translation status

If you wan't me to add another language create an issue at my fork or leave a reply here

Btw. could someone reopen this issue?
