Wire-ios: Display separation between what you send and what you receive

It would be easier to read a discussion, if there is a better separation between what you send and what you receive.
Maybe displaying your name / picture on the right of your own message instead of the same side of the received message and align text to the right ?

Some ways to consider to further improve display:

  • Grouping messages from the same sender (inside a time frame to prevent grouping two messages with a 2 days delay for exemple)
  • Alternative very soft/light background per received messages, for each contact in the discussion

I actually enjoy the current borderless design alot and the photos on the same side makes it look clean, sleek and uncluttered. If you decide to go with this please let it be an option in settings and not some mandatory change everyone has to go through.

Thanks for the insights. We'll keep that in mind.

In fact, if the sender picture is aligned to the right, there is only one "glitch" to adress: messages separation from different contacts in a group conversation.
Message grouping is already done.
