The system currently attributes authorship to a number of elements. As expected these are currently all "Microsoft".
Is the intention that other will be able to contribute items too? (Pages and Features are the most likely, but potentially frameworks as well.)
If contributions will be possible, has thought yet been given to how this will be managed? (Not wanting to judge if it hasn't I'm just thinking about this.)
Obviously, there's an overhead to future maintenance with each addition due to the need to support all items in combination.
Will contributions come directly into this repo?
Or is there a way to integrate them from elsewhere too?
_And on a related note, what's the plan around long term support and management of this generator. I'd hate to see it abandoned at some point (end of FY--for instance) when the Microsoft staff involved are assigned new priorities? (Not that that happens 馃槈 )_
If contributions won't be possible, does the author attribution need to be included?
Our thought is "Microsoft - Community Contribution" as a item type. Contributions for other projects like MVVM Light will be directly called out as that is an external project.
Does that work?
I think yes since not all the contributors are Microsoft even though Microsoft sponsors it.
@mrlacey you ok with "Microsoft - Community Contribution"?
@crutkas yep. fine by me
