Windowscommunitytoolkit: Any place for niche control and services for Microsoft Band?

I recently came around and designed a pretty straight forward preview of Microsoft Band's pages for one of my application. It looks something like this:

It allows a quick preview of the content that is going to be synced to the Band, given a right format (Which I already have written, just have to adapt it before publishing for everybody to use). So i want to ask if this is something that would be helpful enough for everybody to be included in here.

Yeah, I think the control might be a little too specialized, but worth adapting my helper classes for syncing with Microsoft Band over? It is one of the few things that I can do for the toolkit :)

Hey!
as Morten mentioned this is a bit too niche for the toolkit. We try to keep it high level with tools tht can be used by the majority of UWP developers.

However, I would like to get everyone's thought on an idea: creating a new project for devices: Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp.Devices

We could used it for the band, or any IoT devices we could control from UWP app.

Thoughts?

A separate project to deal with all external devices might be a really good idea IMO.

The Band SDK itself isn't that great in term of newcomer-friendly and the way the tile works on Band can be a little hard to describe in term of code. So having abstracted them away with higher-level functions might be helpful for people who want to extend their already existed app with a Band Tile that they can control.

And for all others devices ,like talking to the IoT devices , would be really helpful IMO. Even possible of extending to Hololens?

Yeah. With that, I have written a few helper class for syncing stuffs over to the Band. So at least, all the details are all taken care of (establish connection, tile creation, tile sync, data sync...). Probably have to go back and rename some stuffs with a few, but better, try-catch blocks. But after that, it should be good to go for using inside any application.

I will probably dive into IoT soon too. So if we decide this is something that is worth doing, I'll make it happens.
