Issue

I can't install mdatp in Ubuntu19.10 with following error response. Could you tell me how can avoid it?

This may be the cause

The expected size of mdatp is defined as 12622224 in /ubuntu/19.10/prod/dists/insiders-fast/main/binary-amd64/Packages.
However, the actual size of the mdatp package is 12622214 in /ubuntu/19.10/prod/pool/main/m/mdatp/mdatp_100.87.33.amd64.deb.

Still seeing this today on 18.04. Yea I probably could download the package and install it manually. I just sort of have a problem with my antivirus not matching the hash and going 'eh it's probably fine' and installing it anyway.

I got a hash mismatch on ubuntu 18.04 using fast insider track. Fix missing didn't do anything

Something is wrong with the repository server. Try this:

wget https://packages.microsoft.com/ubuntu/19.10/prod/pool/main/m/mdatp/mdatp_100.87.33.amd64.deb
sudo apt install ./mdatp_100.87.33.amd64.deb
sudo apt install libproxy1v5
mdatp --health

installing package directly works without issue.

Verified on Ubuntu Bionic, but installing package directly works without issue.

16.04 installed from apt-get fine seems only 18.04 is the one having this sort of issues.

19.10 as well per kazukiigeta (submitter).

It seems to now be working. did a apt-get update and was able to install on 16.04 and 18.04

same works for me now as well

Under Ubuntu sudo mv ./microsoft.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d is the correct path for copying the "microsoft.list" file - NOT sudo mv ./microsoft.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/microsoft-[channel].list

Under Ubuntu sudo mv ./microsoft.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d is the correct path for copying the "microsoft.list" file - NOT sudo mv ./microsoft.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/microsoft-[channel].list

It really doesn't matter. As long as its a file in the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ directory it will work.

@kazukiigeta - Thank you for submitting feedback.

I think the best way forward is if you can contact support and open a service ticket for Windows 10 products so this can get resolved ASAP. Based on outcome, let me know if it is something that can be called out in the docs.

If you don't mind please keep us posted here on the resolution so we can get the applicable information you are discovering back into the docs.
