Wee-slack: a way to turn off 'getting channel history'

Is there a way to turn of the 'getting channel history' and just let weechat use its owns logs. ?

It would be possible to add support for this, but note that if we do that the old messages would not include edits, reactions or thread indications, and it would not be possible to interact with them (edit, react to, open thread etc.). You would of course not see messages received while you were disconnected either.

Is this what you want? What would be the benefit?

I do not use slack's fuctions. i am old school irc user
I use wee_slack as a tool to get all those who use slack into my irc.
so the benefit for me would be that I do not get backlog spam and I do not have to edit, react to, open thread etc. :)

Plus skipping the ten seconds of getting channel history while all you want to do is read up on the latest messages.
