Waveboxapp: Showing 2 Unread Notification Badge for Slack Project While All Messages Read

Created on 11 Apr 2017  Â·  10Comments  Â·  Source: wavebox/waveboxapp

  • Which version of Wavebox are you using? v3.1.3

  • Which Operating System are you using? Mac OSX 10.12.4

I'm showing two unread notifications for a Slack project even when I've read all messages. The badge increments if there are new messages, but after reading those, I still see two unread messages

Awesome. Thanks Thomas. Working as expected. Thrilled at the response
level, and happy to be growing with Wavebox.

Hi, I've updated the slack-sync code so it should now be taking account of
archived and muted conversations and this has just gone out in the 3.1.4
release. Let me know if you're still having trouble with this.

Wavebox should update automatically after a while, but if you want to
hurry it up, just restart the app and it will re-check

If you try hitting shift+esc a couple of times does this clear the count? A few users have reported that there's some hidden unread items

I read bug #7, and tried shift + esc. It didn't clear the badge for that
slack project.

The messages do seem hidden. When I navigate to the tray icon, it shows two
messages, both of which are months old direct messages with multiple people.

If you go into those channels in the slack UI does it clear after that?

No. Going into those channels forces a refresh. But the badge doesn't clear.

Hey, I'm also having this issue, but with more than 2. My team has 13. I think this may have to do with the fact that Wavebox may be looking for unreads in channels the user isn't in, or maybe that the user has left, or have been archived.

@weaversam8 nice thought! It could be that. If click on the tray icon and look at the items that are marked as unread are these archived channels?

@Thomas101 it seems to be the case. I stopped running Wavebox yesterday because of serious performance problems, but starting it again, this is what my context menu looks like. The channel names are cut off, but for the most part, it appears to be entirely archived channels.
