Hi…
I'm still new to the publishing aspects of this space, and wanted to make sure I get things right all around.
I've personally used this icon theme exclusively since it hit my radar a long time ago, because it provides pleasing detail, color, and amazing distinctions necessary for some folks like myself for visual processing and other related challenges.
To overcome the overhead of too much in settings.json I needed to do away with a lot of extensions, and since I could not do that for some like this one, I opted to slowly incorporate them into packages that are lets say opinionated, but not for lack of appreciation that this is less common a necessity for most.
Now I am at a point where I need to inquire on what would be fair to authors as I move forward with publishing such formats.
Please see a minimal effort which I want to improve on in a coming release per our discussions here.
Thanks
Note: I'm only including the icon theme aspects, without any scripting or configuration, ie fine-tuned per need to minimize friction of moving parts.
Hi, it's no problem if you include my icons in your package as long as you tell somewhere from where the icons came (with link). But I just saw that it looks fine as you did in your extension :+1:
However, if you notice anything that can be improved on the icons or my extension in general, I am happy about issues or pull requests that draw attention to it.
I sincerely appreciate it, and truth be told it is more like if only VS code had a better settings UX (aside from all sad UI aspects)
I found using your extension very straightforward, but syncing my settings and not faulting to manage the json blob properly with too many sometimes extensions, that is completely the reason to omit config on my part.
Thank you so much, very elegant, very thoughtful:)
I am glad that you like my extension. I hope it's all right if I close this issue, because I think your question is resolved already.
@PKief absolutely — thanks :)
