All the languages have their associated icon, but it would be great to have an elephant icon for PHP instead of the current tag.
Yes, I agree with you, the PHP icon is not a real beauty. Let's see what I can change here.
So I decided to use the same one as you know it from seti, I updated the color and the size and it will look like this:

Elephant is not associated with PHP anyhow. It's widely associated by its three letters. Previous icon was much better and looked good.
@regs01 Thank you for the feedback. As far as I know the elephant is the mascot of PHP. I thought the elephant was a good motive for an icon. But other developers also told me that the old icon was more appropriate than the current one.
So I think about to reset the icon to the old one, but I'm not really sure yet. It's sometimes difficult to find the right icon and I'm always experimenting to improve the icons. I'm glad that you use my icon theme :)
It may be a mascot, but it's never been in wide and even narrow use. There is only one page on php.net with that mascot and that one is hardly reachable. It's just not associated. PHP is PHP.
Could you please provide both icons? So everyone could decide which is their preffered one. Maybe call it something like "php" and "php_elephant".
With the 3.1.0 update you can add the following config to your user settings to enable the elephant icon for php:
"material-icon-theme.languages.associations": {
"php": "php_elephant"
}
My only complaint is that the pink one is much more awesome than the Blue one. I know the language can be considered to many to be a bit "lack-luster" but could someone please add an ignore to allow the pink option? just a small complaint. other than that I love the extension and you're developmnet team has done an awesome job! 馃憤 馃槏
