Upgrading/replacing a smart fridge with better matter bins does not allow you to put more things in it.
Fridge gets full at the same amount no matter which kind you use.

Last time I looked into this I believe the limit of 999 items was, allegedly, because of a BYOND issue.

Fuck knows if that ancient comment is still relevant or was even true to begin with.

We have a list that's 1.5 million elements long and it only occasionally ruins everything

Or alternatively it might just be a problem with BYOND fucking up contents specifically. Who knows until someone goes ahead and tries it.
