Userland: can't login after using passwd

I used passwd in ubuntu out of curiosity and now I can't login to anything!. It always shows password failure even after typing the new password that I set while using the command. Any FS I install gives password auth failure at the start and it seems i'm locked out of userland itself. Reinstalling didn't work.. nor I was using logs.

Describe the bug

i changed password using 'passwd' in ubuntu and now i cant login in any FS/app/sessions. even after creating new fs & apps and reinstalling app itself didnt help.
its like i am locked out of Userland itself and it now shows password authentication failure ever after.

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Use passwd on ubuntu and enter new password
2. exit and try to login again.. it'll now say password authentication failure on any FS/apps/sessions.
   

   Device Information

Device: moto g4 plus.
Android Version: Noughat 7.0.
UserLAnd Version: 2.3.5 Beta.
the device is NOT rooted.
the device is not running LineageOS

Additional context

Ever since i used passwd i cant login to any other fs and not just ubuntu.. any new session/app fails to extract and passAuthFailure issue persists even after reinstalling everything. Unfortunately i dont have any logs since i didnt feel the need at that time. currently using parallel space for userland to work.
