There is a setting in toggl that continues the Time entry instead of creating a new one. This setting works also in desktop application. More information: http://support.toggl.com/my-profile/#continuebutton

Is the continue setting gone in one of the last updates?
It is also missing from http://support.toggl.com/my-profile/#continuebutton
Toggl creates a new time entry when clicking the continue button of an existing entry.

Continue mode is replaced with grouped mode. Now every entry is tracked separately and users can group similar entries together. https://support.toggl.com/my-profile/#grouped
