Tdesktop: [Feature Request] Filter unread, non-muted messages to the top

Created on 18 Sep 2016  路  11Comments  路  Source: telegramdesktop/tdesktop

It would be rather swish if it were possible to filter unread non-muted channel/user conversations to the top.

I'm in way too many over-active muted channels that I dabble in occasionally, but they're often well above people directly messaging me. Hunting around for the conversations with the blue dot is getting tiring. This would be rather nice.

Please use the new reactions of GitHub on the first entry of this issue instead of creating unnecessary +1 comments.

@matthewbaggett
And use the issue template next time.

My most sincerest of apologies. I'm more of a gitlab person, never really use github so I'm not familiar with its nuances.

Edit: It seems there isn't an option for "reactions" on the mobile website which explains me not spotting them!

@wolfgangvc nice pic, but I think that those chats should also keep their position even if someone reads the messages in non muted chats, should not occur that a new message in a muted group bring that conversation on top of non muted ones. That's what I actually asked at #2590 where I also described a way of determining the best moment when the muted chat should be pushed on top again. Please, take a look, it's not a 1:1 duplicate issue but should definitely be considered together as a single feature.

I thinks something like the Line program is good.
Sort by: Time received and Unread messages(unmuted).

@NabiKAZ type in workmode in settings.

@stek29 That's good, but it just hide "muted" messages, and not sorting "unread" messages for showing always in top list.

@NabiKAZ

Unread messages(unmuted)

Definitely re-open!
I think a lot of people are saying the same thing, just in slightly different ways.
Certainly for me, the main issue is needing a way to work with lots of chats- unreads just disappear in the long list of chats.

I'd just like a way to quickly see my unread chats so I can catch up.
