(we're more likely to help if you're using latest development builds)
Issue description: Native Video Imports, instead of using linux-specific scripts and commands to create image sequence first and wrapping them as .LST for imports. Could it be implemented utilizing ffmpeg and internal .LST conversion with configurable framerates?

For clarification, I don't want the video to be imported as video inside Synfig, but as image sequences inside Synfig. I don't intend Synfig to be a video editor, I just want to use Animated GIF images of fire, rain and other 2D particles inside Synfig, and sometimes I use continuous video frames as animation backgrounds.
@libreartist The latest development version of Synfig comes with basic video import included.

If possible can you test and comment if this feature fulfill your original requirements? what else do you think is missing to have a proper video import? We could consider this issue to serve as a checklist for future enhancements.
Hi, sorry to reply late. The feature is awesome (tried mini-vfx like stuff lately, and it reduced the workaround time)... Thank u :-)
Will publicly share my experiments and theories sooner...
@libreartist ping :) can we close this issue?
