Suitecrm: 7.9.4 No way to add email signature after adding email template

Created on 2 Aug 2017  路  4Comments  路  Source: salesagility/SuiteCRM

Issue

If the user has an email signature setup that auto-populates the "Body" of the email. After adding an email template the body is wiped out with no way to get the signature back.

Expected Behavior

The signature should stay after adding the template or there should be an option to add it back in.

Actual Behavior

Signature is replaced with email template.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Set up personal email account
  2. Set a signature
  3. Compose email
  4. Add template

I don't know that the signature should stay, if that's the case it should be an option; however, there should definitely be the ability to have a $signature or $email_user_default_signature variable. Currently this does not exist.

I'm running v7.10.10 and have determined that the email template will wipe out the signature in your editor, but when you actually email the target / contact / lead, your signature is attached to the email correctly. So as far as I'm concerned there is no problem and this issue could be closed.

We are using Version 7.11.8.

The signature is not attached in the emails sent using templates.

+1 as its effecting us too
