Stackage: The blocking of Haskell users from this organisation

It seems that prominent Haskell ecosystem contributor @hvr has been blocked from this organisation.

Please either unblock @hvr or block me also.

Hi @erikd, I am as eager as you to see folks in the Haskell community on good terms.

However, since we both probably don't know the full context, framing it in less like a demand and instead trying to understand the underlying conflict seems like a more productive way to approach it.

I've definitely observed sometimes folks being a bit too disruptive or stubborn in some contexts, so I totally think that in some cases blocks are a valid option. Unfortunately the context gets lost to outsiders, so we end up here.

Maybe somebody could briefly lay out the reasons for the block? Potentially that gives us a path forward and a way to marginally adjust some behaviours and approaches to better handle our respective passionate disagreements.

Bravo! I wholeheartedly applaud this blocking measure. There is really no place in our community for disgusting people who play down the persecution and suffering endured by the LGBT community!!

Requests to be blocked are unprecedented. Curators will discuss this issue, but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that there are also ways on your end for you to avoid interacting with the project, if you so choose.

Stackage curators have chosen to take no further action at this time.

If hvr doesn't understand why he was blocked, or would like to attempt to negotiate an unblock of himself, he may (among other options) contact me at my personal email address (see my github profile). I am not empowered to enact an unblock by myself, but I am willing to try to help bridge social gaps.

If anyone else doesn't understand why hvr was blocked, they may ask him. We will not be providing a public explanation at this time.
