Love it and usually works great until now. Suddenly I have a page I added to one of the groups but this page appears in all other groups. I can remove it manually but than it is enough when I open it again in whatever group is is back again in all groups. It is is simple all or nothing situation:) Annoying and would love to get rid of this issue.
Also what I noticed that this "stucked" page is only shown in actually open group - when I e.g. create two new groups with one tab each and in either I open offending page when I am in the group it shows in add-on tabs count - 2 tabs. Not active group shows 1 tab. When I switch group situation reverses. Active group has 2 tabs - other only 1.
As I was playing with this annoyance it happens that I found the way to fix it. As this page behaved like "pinned" one but just without usual moving it to other pinned pages I pinned it properly, unpinned and now all behaves like it should. Might be useful if it happens to others. Not sure if issue was with add-on or firefox 'pin tab' functionality.
@kapitainsky I have tried your pinning and unpinning workaround but it didn't work for me unfortunately. It only happens to some tabs like Gmail and Discord, I dont see the connection as to why only some tabs get stuck and show up in all groups.
I am using FF developer Edition though, how about you?
Experiencing this issue on
macOS Monjave - latest update
FF Dev edition - latest update
FF containers addon - latest update
Simple Tab Groups addon - latest update
Not experiencing the issue:
Win 10 - latest update
FF (non dev edition) - latest
FF containers addon - latest update
Simple Tab Groups addon - latest update
I am using latest beta (70.0b5 (64-bit)) on macOS Mojave with all latest updates as well.
It happened again for me with another tab - pin/unpin did not work immediately but after I did it few times from different groups the issue was fixed again. It is something new - I've been using this plugin for ages and only see this issue last few days.
I can confirm that this issue has popped up about 3 - 4 weeks ago for me...
I have tried again from all my groups to no avail :(
I will try non-dev FF when I get a chance and see. I'll also check FF DE on Win 10. I have a feeling its FF DE + macOs
I hope it will get solved at some point.
Same thing happening with me, but only on the Firefox Developer Edition 70.x
I had Firefox (regular) 68 on another computer I just upgraded it to 69. Neither version had the same issue.
All addons at their latest versions. On Windows 10.
I'm experiencing this with tabs of YouTube videos. It's always reproducible for me that way. Also using FF Dev 70.x. Maybe no longer possible to hide tabs with audio/video or something like that?
Alright then, it seems like it's something with FF DE specifically.
It happens with random pages - definitely also ones without any audio video. I have not figured out yet how to reproduce it. What I noticed is that when it happens for specific page something remebers this page url. Closing tab and opening gets the issue back for this particular url. So far pin/unpin "fix" works for me but sometimes requires few tries.
On my browser it happens to the first tab on the initial/first tab group, and several tabs on the same group that are in the same container as that first tab.
From what I understand what's happening is that the tabs essentially move to the new group when you switch groups. They will follow you to every group. If you close them, they will properly close.
So it's kinda annoying, but the tabs aren't getting cloned. It's just that the group they're assigned to automatically updates to the currently active group.
Indeed they are not "cloned" - they behave simliar like pinned tabs. But so far it is random - does not seem anybody has a clue what conditions have to be met for tab start behaving like that.

We need to wait until the developers of Firefox fix it...
Great! So at least the issue is identified. Whoever can should vote for this bug so we can help to increase its visibility.
@kapitainsky Thanks! It would be nice! :)

with Mozilla bug 1577480 fixed and deployed in the latest Firefox 70.0b9 the issues seems to be solved. I can report that problematic tabs are no problem any more for me.
Yup seem to be fixed.
