Signal-ios: Continuously displaying profile name changes in group chats

Bug description

In group chats on iOS Signal shows that persons have changed there profile names continuously for days now.
This messages are followed by a small Button "Kontakt aktualisieren" (Update contact?).

Steps to reproduce

• be in a group chat
• let somebody change it's profile name
• it might be that the parallel usage of the windows desktop client has an influence on that bug
• the desktop client shows that messages only ones...

Expected result: It should be shown only ones

I might have some additional context. I am in a group chat and removed my last name in the app. Others in at least one group chat have since noticed constant notifications of my name changed from first and last to just first, and vice-versa. I’m adding my last name back for now to see if that resolves the issue. I have an iPhone X and iPad Pro and frequently switch between the two on Signal.

The Bug is still there with version 5.1.0.31 of the app.

I believe I am Hacked I trade stocks and I noticed that someone was recording screen shots of me using my phone in the cloud.. I knock him off and reset password but he gets back in .. I notice him in the Game app on my phone

Unfortunately, it’s hard for us to diagnose this issue without knowing the data that has been blanked out in your screenshots. We’re unable to reproduce here.

Can you give us a little more context? For example, are the notifications always like:

old name changed to new name
new name changed to old name

(a back and forth)

or are they just:
old name changed to new name

over and over?

If you’re comfortable sending an unmasked screenshot to [email protected] that is also an option.

In my case, this is what other members in my group have been seeing. Note that I only changed my name once (only removing my last name). It is interesting to me that the first and last name appeared in the beginning portion of the sentence in all cases. This is a legacy group, in case that makes a difference.

I am comfortable sending screenshots! I know I've had problems for at least 6 months now
