Signal-desktop: Allow deletion of single message

Most intuitive for (windows) desktop use would be a right click context menu.
Other - maybe simpler - solution would be a delete icon in message details.

One feature that Android has which is very helpful is to be able to select multiple messages and delete all of them at once.

I feel like I am posting to a dead thread, but I can't seem to delete messages at all from the Desktop. Even deleted threads come back when Signal is restarted. Does Signal Desktop not have the ability to delete messages at all? (Messages that have been deleted from Android also still show in the Desktop client.)

This can be closed. The deletion of single message is now possible

Although the deletion of a disappearing message status update isn't possible. Is there a bug open for that?

The UI for deleting single messages isn't very clear though – I was about to open a bug because I tried right-clicking on a message and there was no menu, it was only after I saw that this had been closed already that I thought to first try the …-menu and Delete messages and fortunately managed to hit Cancel and then tried clicking everywhere at random in the chat until I managed to hit the time stamp.

Maybe the timestamp could have a little icon or look more like a link somehow? IANAD so I have no idea what would look best. (A right-click menu would also be nice, but maybe that's difficult since it seems nothing has right-click menus in the app?)

@unhammer +1 for me, I only found out how to delete only by finding your post. Perhaps adding additional styling to the timestamp div to make it more obvious that it has additional functionality?

It should definitely be an option in the …-menu. I would never have found it without this discussion. We could also do without the confirmation dialog.
