Signal-desktop: Group chat sync

Bug Description

I have a few group chats that are very active. I often use the Mac OS app to react while I am at work and I find typing on my phone all the time annoying. All the group chats sync without a problem. The whole mac OS app works perfectly. However one group app doesn’t sync well. On my iPhone it works, but on the mac app it says ‘unknown group’, it doesn’t show the group picture and it only loads my messages. It also doesn’t show the group members. I love the Signal app. How can I fix this?

Steps to Reproduce

  1. step one - Install Signal desktop app on Mac OS Catalina
  2. step two - Open it?
  3. step three - See group chat not syncing properly

Actual Result:

Expected Result: To the group to be synced properly.

In the meanwhile the solution provided at #3441 worked! The "A workaround for this kind of situation is to have the people in the group make some sort of update to the group - name, avatar, even members. That will update your devices with the current make-up of the group, and should eliminate the 'unknown group' label." Solved it for me.

Could be a duplicate of https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/1037 or https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Desktop/issues/3441? A workaround mentioned by @scottnonnenberg-signal in #3441: "have the people in the group make some sort of update to the group - name, avatar, even members. That will update your devices with the current make-up of the group, and should eliminate the 'unknown group' label."

Would you be able to provide us with a debug log? You can upload a debug log from desktop by going to View > Debug Log.
