Bug Description

Using the Ctrl/Opt+← (left arrow key) to jump to the beginning of the text in the text compositor and pressing Ctrl/Opt+← results in the cursor jumping to the end of the text. This behavior is not the same when using Ctrl/Opt+→ (right arrow key), using this combination repeatedly will place the cursor at the end of the text but not jump back to the beginning of the text. This inconsistency is not present in the search text box.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Enter two words into the composition box, e.g. "a b"
  2. Use Ctrl/Opt+← repeatedly

Actual Result:
The cursor will jump to the end of the text when pressing Ctrl/Opt+← when the cursor is at the beginning of the text.

Expected Result:
The cursor stays at the beginning of the text when pressing Ctrl/Opt+← when the cursor is at the beginning of the text.

Looks like this reproduces on macOS with opt-left as well.

Reproduces on Linux (Pop_OS 19.04)

I cannot reproduce this anymore on Signal Desktop v1.32.3, Windows 10 or macOS Catalina
@pt8o can you still reproduce this?

Fixed for me @hwinnemoe

@kenpowers-signal Should we close this since it does seem to be fixed on all platforms?
