i have received the link for signal desktop app in chrome store. i have installed and when i try to link my android device on my display show a message "Network error". before to enable camera my android device display "Network connection failed", but i have internet access, 4g or wifi it's indifferent
Please post a debug log from the android client.
Did you successfully complete the Android registration flow?
In Android, do you have 'Signal messages and calls' enabled under Settings > Advanced?
yes, it's enable
You might want to try flipping it off and back on again, as your log indicates that you can't authenticate to the server. In any case, this is definitely a problem on the Android side.
I had the same problem. De-registering and re-registering resolved it.
Yep. I had the same error on v3.23.0. Upon initial installation on Android and linking the Chrome app on MacOS, everything worked. I think upgrading MacOS from Public Beta 3 to PB4 must have screwed things up. If that wasn't it, I don't know what else changed other than I rebooted my Android (7.1 on Pixel XL) as maintenance. However, re-registering worked for me too and the Chrome app is linked once again. Thank you, @liliakai
I had to close Signal on the desktop and phone and try a few times to get around this issue. Got "Network Error" several times. Seems like this would be a good place for some retry logic -- it gave up almost instantly.
@jcollum When you encounter bugs, it isn't very helpful to comment on a closed issue with minimal information. We can't do anything about it. Next time, please enter a new bug with logs from both devices. Then we'll have something we can use to track down the issue and fix it.

It is helpful to other people when this is the first google search hit for certain keywords. I posted how I solved the issue. I don't have the logs for both devices available.
Your new issue with better, recent information would become the first google search result. This is an issue that hadn't been touched in over a year. Again, not useful to update.
In my experience maintainers just point you to the closed issue and say "have you tried all the workarounds in this thread". So, again, useful to update the thread with the most activity.

Make sure to update signal to the latest version.
The Signal servers are having some problems right now. I'll update this issue when things are resolved.

You're doing nothing wrong. Signal has been slammed with 40M+ new members registering as those users abandon WhatsApp. Signal is trying to add more horsepower as quickly as they can. Check @signalapp on Twitter for more information.
I haven't been able to send/receive/connect to Signal for over 4 hours now.

ahh ok, it lacks so much stuff, feedbacks are falling on deaf ears, for example, there's no option to turn off notifications for reactions nor is there an option not to make notification noises for every text message while in the chat/group, hopefully they add those options.
i have found posts as back as a year or two for people asking the same yet not been implemented.
Signal's server issues were resolved over the weekend and folks should be able to connect.
@RohithKumarSp Please know that we _are_ looking at this feedback. I'm sorry we haven't prioritized the features you're interested in, but know that we are aware of these things and are working our hardest!
I'm not sure if this should go here, so please forgive my newbieness.
I tried today to link Android (8.0) to Signal Desktop (Windows) and it didn't work so long my phone was connected to my WiFi (same WiFi as my Desktop). I turned off the WiFi in my phone and tried again with 3G and it worked! No idea why.
