Sharex: how to rename an image you just took?

I would like a naming template for region snapshots. Now the filename is very random and that's not pratical.

im just gonna uninstall this software for now, all the basic things that everything else does this doesnt do

Task Settings > File Naming > click on either name pattern for which capture method. A drop down box should pop up with options, for me personally I just like the date it was captured. day of week, process it was captured within and title of window so you can use this string if you'd like %mo_%d_%yy_%w2_%pn_%t (you can add exact hour and time if you want by looking at the date and time section) but there are many other options there as well. I understand that windows natively gives you the date so if you find this option in naming not very effective there are other options.

You can always right click the file name and change it if you put Open in File explorer in your hotkey settings.

This only works when selection the region, not when using a hot-key to capture the last region again. Using the hot-key makes a random name again.

This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. It will be closed if no further activity occurs.
