My statistics show that many users obvisouly don't see the download-button in the top-right corner. Instead they download one file after the other. It would be cool to have an overlay offering to download all files or browse the files. This overlay should be optional.
Something like this - only more beautiful:

I think this is to interruptive and adds another setting which is mainly providing the same function just in another way. What do you think about adding an option to disallow browsing instead and show "Download" as single option without the ability to pass to "Browse files" at all 馃
Workaround: Share it as an archive (e.g. .zip) file instead. Then the only option will be "Download".
What do you think? @nextcloud/designers
In my case there will be files added over time. So it's good, that users can see all the files. But I see they mostly download it file by file. How about placing the download-button by the files?

That in turn is not a good solution for longer file lists...
It's good to have some input here. I would not look for a download all button in the header menu.

If you select multiple files the download action is hidden in a menu with only one element. This could be improved as well.
Hmm, difficult case as then there鈥檚 of course a lot of cases of where people simply want to browse the files and not download. And adding another setting won鈥檛 really help as people have to discover that too.

So how about when we notice the third download in a row, we simply show a popover with:
Download whole folder
Instead of downloading every file one by one, you can download the whole folder at once.
[ No thanks ] [ Yes, download folder ]
What do you think @nextcloud/designers? It wouldn鈥檛 even have to be a center modal, but could be a popover which points to the top-right download button.

Simple enough, and clean! We should keep the design we already have, so I think this is great! :+1:
A user of mine also made a comment about this. His complaint was that when he selects folders or files he does not see a button to download the selected files. He faulty clicked on the download all button.
Is there a possibility to add a download selected button in the top header next to download all or change the download all button to download all 'selected' when multiple files are selected.
