Server: theming app should offer links to imprint AND privacy policy

Created on 24 May 2018  Â·  11Comments  Â·  Source: nextcloud/server

In light of GDPR we are missing the option to set up a link to our privacy policy on the login screen.

Currently, it’s only possible to set a link to an imprint via the theming app (1.4.2). But we need both; an imprint and a privacy policy.

(A further generalization for this would be to be able to add any number of custom links to the footer of the page with both a custom link and custom label.)

It is possible to translate them. @blizzz I guess we should release another version within the next days when those strings got translated.

We already had this discussion: https://github.com/nextcloud/server/pull/9437#issuecomment-387859392 ... Needed IMHO 🤔

@MariusBluem sorry, I barely put my head into the GDPR laws, just following orders… when you where asking about that link i had no idea it is required.

So, anyway, then we'er going to add it.

Absolutely! The idea is to extend the external sites app accordingly, however it requires changes on the server side. This will rather happen with 15 only. So, for now we need to live with theming.

Thank you for the quick response. 🎊

Thank you very much. Would it be possible to make "Privacy policy" changeable?

@JSoko We should not overengineer this in the themings app, as said by @blizzz, ideally we have the possibility to add links to the front page in the external sites app:

Yes @juliushaertl, You are right.

But at the moment nothing concerning the privacy policy in the EU and esspecialy in germany is clear, and so it's not clear if "Privacy Policy" is OK for a German Nextcloudsystem.
Would it be possible to make Privacy Policy translatable with transifex?

We're going to have a maintenance release in 2? weeks. Does this suffice?

Ah right, I think that would be enough.
