Welcome! The moderation team for secrethitler.io will soon be recruiting. Mods are expected to be active on the site and on Discord. Mods are also expected to enforce the rules of both platforms; bonus points for helping us develop those rules, by use of github or just simple suggestions, as having clear cut rules seems to be an area where we are currently lacking. Im not gonna claim that I have good people skills. Or that I can mod well. Im not the best at the game. I've been playing for only about 3 months. But I've loved the game since I first saw one of my friends playing it on the bus. I have been glued to my iPad ever since(even if IOS sucks):wink: My point is that I would love to be mod, and I feel I could help at least a little. So yeah. That's it. But just a message to all the people that don't get mod. Don't be salty and say that the SH team was bias or any of that shit. Just enjoy the game. Whether your a mod or not.

While I grant that I am not very active in GitHub, I do care a lot about the game and think often about how to improve the quality of play for everyone in the community. I believe my input in regarding rule changes for games and the website will be helpful to the community as a whole. I am very active in Discord (checking it at least once a day, and currently at level 9), and in the game itself, with over 300 total games played within approximately the last month alone.

I have previous moderation experience as a "judge" for cases on reddit.com/r/uhccourtroom, which was part of a minecraft community I used to be an active member in. As a moderator there, it was my job to vote to ban or not to ban players who were accused of breaking rules. Also, I typically was the guy who kept the speadsheet that kept track of cases in check and tidy. I was a part of that courtroom for about two months before I left the community.

I was also a respected server host within that community, meaning that I hosted games open to the community. I hosted about fifty games with an average of about 60 players each, in which it was my responsibility to keep track of and enforce community rules during play. I believe that it good experience for this job as well.

Within my time here, I have already helped in reporting and finding gamethrowers several times. I've never been reported other than a few times where I had to leave a game early because of unforeseen circumstances arising before I could finish the game, and it has never happened more than once in a span of 24 hours. I care very much about the community.

I admit that one potentially troubling aspect of choosing me as a moderator would be that I have not spent much time within this community, and therefore my commitment to the role wouldn't be substantial. However, I hope to disprove this notion by giving a serious and committed response to this application, which you can see for yourself.

Overall, I think I'd be a great fit and I would love to help you out. I love this community, it is very friendly and I wish to give back to it. Thank you very much for reading this, and good luck choosing the best candidate, whoever that may be!

I don't play every day, but I play quite a bit, and I enjoy helping new players learn the game. I'm probably not as active on the Discord as many others are but I do try to answer questions about the site whenever I see them, and I join the voice chats a lot. ...I also have an odd habit of reading through the (hilarious) reports log on discord. If I do become a mod I will do my best to become a more peaceful mediator of conflicts rather than yelling in all caps.

While I don't play too often, it is rare for me to not have the site open, and am nearly always available on Discord. I have quite a lot of experience mediating conflicts and solving arguments (and observing games...), so I see this as an opportunity to contribute to a community which has positively influenced my life and to make something meaningful from my (copious amounts of) free time. A) I kinda already get pushy when it comes to following certain rules and guidelines...I try my best to make try to correct people when new players or trolls make plays that disrupt the game, but often many players will ignore a single player because he's just an arrogant rainbow player or something like that.
I am willing to enforce those rules the same way I always have, as well as looking at the reports on Discord, if I became a mod.

B) I personally don't use Discord often, but I've been on the Secret Hitler Group for some time and can quickly get familiar.

C) The number of games I've played in the several months I've played now (like more than 450) kinda says it all. I'm fairly active throughout the week but most on the weekend, since I have school on weekdays (doesn't stop me though :) )

D) IDK if this is just me but I feel like at one point or another I've played with the great majority of the regular players on SH, so I will be familiar with many people. I'm also generally lenient to people who admit mistakes/new to the game, but admittingly my temper flairs when it looks like players are actively ignoring my suggestions.

Thanks for the consideration, not aware of when or how I'll get notification about the result of the recruitment but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough.

I started playing this game (got addicted) in December '17 when I saw some guys I support on Patreon/Youtube playing the original IRL version. Ive been on this site for a very long time now. (June 2017) I play pretty much all day long M-Th, unless im in class, but am unavailable on weekends bc i have sloooowwwwww wifi. You can ask most players that have been on for a while that I have a very nice reputation when it comes to greeting new players, having integrity (unless im hitler in game 😃 ) , as well reporting those as i see fit. I have toyed with the idea of becoming a mod on this site for quite a while now but never knew how to get involved with it. I got addicted to this game around Last year and started grinding out games during September.
I found out about this game from a friend from Skype and it just kinda stuck to me as I find it challenging socially and logically. Well i show up in the discord voice chat just about every night to play with the regulars and chat about what we think of each game and it’s gotten pretty fun. And Well frankly I want more people to feel the way I do about the game, so getting to the point about why i would like to be moderator over others is because I feel like I would do it in a way to where I reason with people breaking the rules or doing something they aren’t suppose so that way it doesn’t create a sense of power and injustice that comes with just simply threatening a person (i strongly dislike that) so I’ll always come up with a different way to save a bad apple and maybe turn them into a good apple :)
