Rss-bridge: Instagram feed issue

I have an Instagram feed which always has some errors.

For the longest time I had it in my Freshrss, and I could put it in and it would load normally, but updating of the feed would not work, it would always give an error.

Then I noticed that the Rssbridge feed actually updates, so I put it in my Rssgoemail (a program that sends me an email every time the feed has new posts), and even that program keeps sending me emails that "The following feed contains errors".

The feed actually opens normally when I visit the link, however, on occasion I have visited the link and it showed an error-ish page. I have no idea why it happens and how to replicate it, so I took a screenshot:

I have 2 other Instagram feeds in my Freshrss, and there are no problems with them. But the problem with this feed has been happening for many months actually, I just never got around to looking into it.

Any ideas what is the problem?

You're running an old version of rss-bridge from July 2019. Updating to the latest version should fix this issue.

Oh really...

Yes I'm not running the latest version. But I updated the Instagram bridge on Sep 10, 2019 because of some issue I had then.

Oh well, I guess I'll update Rss bridge fully and see if that fixes it.

Is there a way to update without losing all my current feeds?

Ok, well I did see this page - https://github.com/RSS-Bridge/rss-bridge/wiki/Updating

But I don't use Docker, or Heroku, or Git. I don't know what those are. I just have Rss Bridge installed in my Hostgator hosting. I can't remember exactly how I installed it, but I would imagine I just uploaded the zip file and extracted the contents, and there it was.

Anyway, I'll try to update. First I'll backup my current Rss bridge folders. Then I'll just go through folder by folder and replace the existing files with the files from the new zip I downloaded from github. I'll leave the files that are not duplicates or that look like they are related to my feeds.

When I do it, I'll check the feeds and see if I can create new feeds and see what mess I've done 😄

So I did what I said.

I can access the website fine. I created a new Twitter feed and it created it fine. I checked a few of my existing Youtube and Facebook and Instagram feeds, and they all opened fine. Yaaay 😄

Now let's see if Freshrss and/or Rssgoemail throw up any errors in the coming hours/days.

I visited the link, and I also tried creating the feed again, but the issue persists.

What's the problem?

Could it be that the feed was created before I updated, and so it's lacking something, so I have to go find the file of that feed and delete it, and then create the feed again. Would that solve it?

That's the only thing that comes to mind. I may try it as I don't know what else to try.

But the problem persists, the feed is still showing that 500 error. All my other Instagram feeds are fine, for now.

Yes that's what it says, but the account clearly exists, and is not private.

I can open the account just fine on Instagram. And its feed was working fine before I updated, but not anymore.

Can confirm I get the same message. Maybe it's a business account?

I'm not sure if it's a business account. It could be. But does it matter? I don't think that should matter. But I'm no expert so I can't say for sure.

Also, before I updated my Rssbridge I didn't have a problem with that account.

The problem should be fixed by 7b63da522fa728811349081a0921f84bb1fa6f19.
The thing was that the username was case-sensitive (LondonBusinessGrowth vs londonbusinessgrowth), but this is no longer the case.
