Rocket.chat: [3.6.0] Does not render pdf previews

Description:

Does not render pdf previews

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Upload PDF

Expected behavior:

Rendered preview of pdf files.

Actual behavior:

No previews for pdf files rendered, only infinite loading cycle.

Server Setup Information:

  • Version of Rocket.Chat Server: 3.6.0
  • Operating System: GNU/Debian 10 alias Buster
  • Deployment Method: tar
  • Number of Running Instances: 5
  • DB Replicaset Oplog: Yes
  • NodeJS Version: 12.16.1
  • MongoDB Version: 4.0.20

Client Setup Information

  • Desktop App or Browser Version: Both (Webbrowser Firefox/Opera)
  • Operating System: Windows / Linux

With 2.4.11 you are referring to the client right?
This is independent from the client as the server will render it.

The issue is fixed in rocket.chat server version 3.6.3 and higher.

the issue is with server v2.4.11..so is that mean we need to switch the v2 channel to v3 in order to get the pdf thumbnail working ?

Yes correct.
But your post (https://github.com/RocketChat/Rocket.Chat/issues/18740#issuecomment-713716209) is saying you are using 3.6.2.

we have several servers running rocket chat..one of them is on v3 channel and others are on v2 Channel..so we use both versions.
as we are using snap install we still don't have the v3.6.3 for snap ,only the v3.6.2
