@Sing-Li alright. I studied enough internals to do it in max ~ 30 minutes after setting up the IDE. But that doesn't count making the HTML design nice because I am not good at frontend.
Needs a modified version of emoji popup without emoticon names and a box to display them along with user avatars and counts below the message.

I love RocketChat's look so far, and would be thrilled to see emoji reactions support. :) I think that's probably the deal-clincher for some groups to switch over.

Same as royalaid, could you share the status for this. The reaction to a post is a really useful way for people to vote up or down ideas for example and it seems like @ninja- took it up a long time ago to make it happen.

It would be nice if the reaction smiley wouldn't show all icons but only the most relevant ones - similar to github where it only shows six different ones

@andreas-bulling you can kind of work around this with most recently used section of the emoji but having the option to set a custom selection would be awesome
