Hello,
I am unable to see the livestream from the Home App, here is the log in home bridge :
[2020-7-26 16:08:02] [Ring] Preparing Live Stream for Portail
[2020-7-26 16:08:43] [Ring] Ding 6853790626390416830 is expired (480). Fetching a new ding and trying video stream again

[2020-7-26 16:08:44] [Ring] Received stream data from Portail (41.842s)
[2020-7-26 16:09:02] [Ring] Live stream for Portail appears to be inactive. (60.192s)
I got the last version of npm and the last version of home bridge.
Do you know something about this issue ?
Ding 6853790626390416830 is expired (480) happens when you try to stream, then stop streaming and try to stream again very quickly. Usually the plugin recovers well in this scenario, but it looks like your stream didn't for some reason. Do live streams work _sometimes_ or _never_?
Hello,
First, thank you for your quick reply.
It never works, I just installed my ring video dorbell 3, direct configure thru homekit. But unfortunately, the live stream never worked
Can you provide some additional details about your setup? What device are you running homebridge on? Is it running in docker? Do you have multiple network interfaces on that device? I ask because there is an issue where the plugin occasionally gets the wrong ip address currently and I have a fix that I will be releasing soon
Homebridge is installed on an raspberry, only one network interface, it is really a classic configuration.
Tell me all information needed I will do my best.
I recently update homebridge and npm to their last version.
hmm..that's definitely a setup that should work fine. Could you grab the logs again and see if you see anything different?
Hello,
Thanks again for your help

Can confirm the above mentioned issue, I am experiencing the same problem with virtually the same log output. Used to work fine until two days back.
System config:
Appreciate any input, thanks for helping out!
I have seen the “appears to be inactive” events over the last couple of days. Each time I saw this error I opened the native Ring app and found that live streams were not available from the app either. My conclusion that there was a problem on the Ring server side and not a problem with the plug-in.
Thanks for weighing in @DMBlakeley. https://status.ring.com/incidents/z695tymt05kx - there have definitely been some video issues over the last few days. In general, if it was working and randomly stops without an update to the homebridge-ring plugin, then it's either an issue with Ring, or with your homekit setup if you made updates to something else.
I don't understand, it means there is nothing to do ? Is it because it is the Ring Video Doorbell 3 ?
I just install a fresh homebridge, and install only home bridge-ring package, still the same issue...

It looks like it's getting stuck in a loop where it just keeps getting 480 responses. Do you by chance have the plugin running on multiple servers? Or multiple instances of homebridge on that one server? This is really odd behavior which I haven't seen before
Normally, I have just one server (raspberry) with homebridge installed, I add the plugin on it and do the configuration.
After the issue encountered, I install hombridge on my NAS (Synology thru Docker) to test the plugin on a fresh install.
Exactly the same issue...
All my cameras seem to be working fine and I don't see any issues on status.ring.com. Unfortunately live streams are basically impossible for me to debug without being on the network having issues. I'm continually trying to find new ways to make live streams more reliable, so hopefully a future update will get it working for you, but for now there isn't anything I can do specifically for your issue. I wish I could give you a better answer, but for now live streams just won't work on your network.
@eliassylvain , to double check, try to disconnect the ring from the power source and reconnect after 5 min. That solved the issue with me and turned out not to be related to the ring plugin
Hello,
After several reboot, it finally work, I can't tell you why... So weird
Thank you all for your help !
Figure I’d throw in my perspective in case it helps in some ways. I have this setup on a Pi 4 3 days ago and got the live stream working on my iPhone but I run into the same issue when I try to view the stream on my Apple Watch. The first half of the following log was me viewing the stream on my iPhone and the second half on my Apple Watch.

It’s probably worth noting that I run iOS 14 Developer Beta 3 and watchOS 7 Developer Beta 3. Prior to running the betas the stream worked fine on both iPhone and Apple Watch with HOOBS hosted on a Mac mini running macOS 10.15.6. This Mac instance was decommissioned before the Pi instance was brought online. I was gonna sit this issue out until my devices stop running the betas. Appreciate all the work you’ve done, @dgreif.
