Missing issue description. Mind giving some clarity into what you're asking?

@hyarsan Can you please fill out the template? :)

First and foremost consider this:

  • Only RetroArch bugs should be filed here. Not core bugs or game bugs
  • This is not a forum or a help section, this is strictly developer oriented

Description

This is not really an bug but an feature request. It's not even an "feature" just an minor detail so I thought no template is needed.

When you type on the keyboard prompt with your physical keyboard, it should show the keys highlighted right as there being pressed.

Oh, and I feel that the caps lock and shift should also be reflected on the keyboard.

Expected behavior

Keys highlighting on the on screen keyboard prompt.

Actual behavior

No keys highlighting on the on screen keyboard prompt!

Steps to reproduce the bug

  1. Get an keyboard prompt.
  2. Type stuff.
  3. Get disappointed.

Bisect Results

I am not sure when this did exist.

Version/Commit

You can find this information under Information/System Information

  • RetroArch: 1.6.7, Oct 31 2017

Environment information

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Compiler: MinGW (6.3.0) 64-bit

So if I understand correctly on the virtual keyboard shown when using search you would want it to highlight the d key if d was typed on the real keyboard and so on? This might be nice.

Yes exactly, it should also reflect the Caps Lock and Shift. Oh, and it isn't only for Search. I actually have an gif showing what I mean but I guess it is not needed anymore :)
