Radarr: Support for PTP 2FA

Created on 7 Feb 2017  路  27Comments  路  Source: Radarr/Radarr

Thank you for implementing #458.
I noticed that authentication via passkey still fails when 2-factor authentication is enabled in PTP.
CP is able to search PTP via API when 2FA is enabled and Sonarr is also able to search 2FA enabled torrent APIs like BTN so this should be possible.

Thanks for the great project, I'm loving it.

With the new nightly, you can use APIKey & APIUser eliminating the need for a 2FA implementation.

You sure? I had to turn off 2FA to get PTP working with CP, did they release an update to support it? I know sonarr and BTN work with 2FA because BTN handles their API different, BTN only requires apikey (and username?) for API access. PTP requires username, password and passkey.

You could be right as I have not been using CP actively for a while (I will try a POC if I get some time this week), however a developer in the PTP forums has claimed that there is no reason that CP (or anything else) cannot implement totp 2FA in their integrations as it's been designed.

I'll take a look sometime, but cannot promise anything. CP definitely didn't work when I tried several months ago.

Certainly not a huge issue, just a nice-to-have.
Thanks

Hoping to move this one up the queue

yeah would be nice to have

Anyone know where the PTP API is documented / where the 2FA feature is described. Having trouble finding anything in their forums.

This issue has been automatically marked as stale because it has not had recent activity. Please verify that this is still an issue with the latest version of Radarr and report back. Otherwise this issue will be closed.

@galli-leo I would contact their staff, they can give you some details.

@onedr0p I am already in contact with the main site developer. I need to finish the store cookies pr, and this should be easy to implement

so this will finally be part of radarr next update? or it might be few updates later?

@king8084 Probably the next update

damn i saw PTP mentioned in the new update and was happy..but im not sure if its related to 2FA or not

@galli-leo Interested in the status of this one, thanks!

@Nixon506E It will be implemented when this issue is closed. Current status: Groundworks are finished (i.e. cookies correctly stored, so you theoretically only need to login once). But the tfa token field needs to be implemented as well as testing everything.

This is still an issue.

Keeping this one alive, hoping someone can work on the interface for it as that is all thats really left it sounds like.

looking out for this one as well, thanks.

PTP added ApiUser and ApiKey in order to use API with 2FA enabled. If you have a PTP account, you can see this in the "Implemented ideas" on the forum.

https://github.com/kannibalox/PTPAPI this has support for the new API method now

Thanks for pointing it out, I hadn't see that get implemented!

If anyone wants to pick this up, please let me know. Should be relatively easy to add.

Maybe I have some time this or next week to add this.
