Symptoms

1) Permanent black screen
1a) Framerate varies by up to 3%
1b) Game launches full screen
1c) Able to alt-tab away from game
1d) Able to close the game window from the desktop without issue

Reproduction

1) Ensure Steam Play version is Proton 3.16-4
2) Install Late Shift
3) Launch game

These looks like lines of interest from the log.

I get nothing but a frozen screen of whatever was there before the game started with Proton 3.16-7 Beta.

_Problem: Black screen on launch._
@HonkingGoose Videos looks like they are AVC1+AAC in an mp4 container. Mediainfo and logs below:

Distro: Linux Mint 19.1 Tessa (64 bit)
GPU: Vega 56
Driver/LLVM version: Mesa 19.1.0-devel/9.0.0
Kernel version: 5.0.10-050010-lowlatency
Proton version: 4.2-3

I can confirm I also get: "Permanent black screen"
And I'm using the proton 5.0.x release.

Nice work... I guess I'll wait for valve to rebase onto this wine patch, unless someone has a guide for using your own wineprefix with steam games?

You'll have to just export your wine prefix:
export WINEPREFIX="/path/to/the/prefix/"
