Please see closed report #5187. A few people have reported system-wide loss of CTRL+F when PT is running. I've disabled all modules and rebooted, PT auto-starts on login and CTRL+F is still lost. I do not run it as admin. CTRL+H and CTRL+SHIFT+F still work. I'm only able to retain CTRL+F functionality after fully uninstalling PT and rebooting.
Please let me know if you need any other information or for me to try anything.
@marinegeek23 i'd file a new bug as the bot closed this. Of these, Color picker, FZ, KBM, PT Run and Shortcut guide would have keyboard hooks.
Are you running PT as admin?
I am not running as admin. I run under a user account w/o admin perms and don't have it set to open as admin.
I've been able to confirm this was PT. I disabled all modules and rebooted and the CTRL+F still quit working shortly after PT loaded. A full uninstall of PT and reboot has given me continued access to CTRL+F.
I'll open a new bug report - was just replying here to see if anyone had figured anything else out before I did so. Thank you for your response!

Of note, I was using v0.22.0. I am going to try with an older version and see if one works.
@arjunbalgovind / @enricogior didnt we recently fix an issue around this.
@crutkas
I'm not aware if we did any fix for this specific issue.
The fix we did for the PT Run shortcut might impact this problem.
@crutkas I'm not aware of any fix on this area either.
@marinegeek23 can you share your PowerToys settings files? It can be found at C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\PowerToys
. A zip of the whole folder might be useful. I wonder if a hotkey in one of the modules is set to Ctrl+F.
Apart from uninstalling, if you close PowerToys from the systray does Ctrl+F still work?
%localappdata%\Microsoft\PowerToys\
is a easier path via run prompt to get there
You can also paste %localappdata%\Microsoft\PowerToys\
in the Explorer address bar.
I initially rolled back to v0.19.0. I must have been out of it when I downloaded the "latest" version of PT (0.22) and thought it was release version. At any rate, v0.19 worked fine. I updated to v0.21 and that worked fine as well.
I just updated to the latest v0.22 again and the CTRL+F issue has not _yet_ returned. I wanted to get back to 22 so I could provide the zip of the config for this version.
I'm going to reboot real quick and will continue to update this thread. Thank you again for responses!
PowerToys.zip
I additionally confirmed the v0.22 installer's hash that I just downloaded and installed matches the one I had previously downloaded and (I am pretty sure) used.

Closing PowerToys from systray did not help.
It does not seem that reinstalling v0.22 has brought the issue back. I have a laptop that I can check later that I know still had CTRL+F broken the last I checked and was on v0.22. My work laptop is on v0.21 and I don't think it ever stopped working, although I very rarely use CTRL+F outside of a Citrix session on that computer. I additionally use Input Direction for cross-computer mouse and computer (don't think this is very pertinent but thought I'd provide anyway).
The only reason I raised this is because I clean formatted this (my primary) computer last week. I used the PowerToys installer that I had previously downloaded and had saved away (v0.22). One of the (many) reasons I rebuilt the OSes on this computer is because of this CTRL+F issue that's been driving me nuts. When it persisted after I only installed my "bare minimum" apps on the clean install, I started closing and disabling apps one at a time to try to narrow it down. I found the previous thread (#5187) and decided to go at PT. Simply disabling everything didn't help. Closing the app out didn't help. It was only once I fully uninstalled the app that I finally got CTRL+F back.
All of that said, now that CTRL+F is working on v0.22 again on this computer again I'm at a loss. I'll give the laptop a try later tonight after work and will update here with what I find.
@marinegeek23 were you able to reproduce the issue once again?
I am encountering the issue as well starting with v0.21 and then again with v0.22.
I have not been able to reproduce again, no. I don't recall doing it, but I guess I had already uninstalled PT from my laptop. I installed v0.22 again and still can't reproduce. At this point, I have no way to help as the issue has ceased happening for me.
Thank you for responding AustinRClark. Hopefully you'll be able to provide anything else they need from here.
I have some other laptops and machines laying around I can try to reproduce on but I'm not feeling confident I'll be able to. Thinking about it now, I wonder if the issue is only produced after upgrades? I haven't tried that yet. I'll give that line a shot.
@marinegeek23
given it may have been a fluke, let's close the issue for now, but please reopen it if you run into the problem again.
Thanks.
FYI, LastPass was breaking my CTRL+D, and CTRL+F system wide. Quitting LastPass, fixed my issue.
