With FancyZones you cannot have a combined grid and column layout, where you can swap between snapping to e.g. corners or the entire column, like the default Windows layout manager.
An option to setup additional layers of overlapping zones, or joining two or more zones as a grouped zone, would increase the flexibility of layouts.
_What is the expected behavior of the proposed feature? What is the scenario this would be used?_

I see Shift+Win+Arrows allows spanning multiple zones. I still wouldn't mind having the option of setting up advanced multi-layered layouts, though. It would allow a combined priority grid + standard columnar layout at the same time. No need to go into FancyZones to change layout, if I want to switch from one to another.
A layout switcher shortcut would also be a decent, easier solution to this. I.e. next and previous layout, among a list of enabled layouts for a monitor.
Is this what you're asking for?

Ah, yes. That's perfect. Wish there was a way to do this by keyboard, but that should probably be a separate issue.
@Sardtok
in 0.23 it will be available using the keyboard as well https://github.com/microsoft/PowerToys/issues/1972
Can we reopen the request for this feature? I want a 2nd layer of custom zones I can quickly access that doesn't match up to the main layer like it appears Sardtok's does.
@OstrichRider please create a dedicated ask that clearly helps articulate the ask and scenario.
