Plotly.js: Flicker at the end of axis range animation

This codepen shows an issue with axis range animations: a flicker is seen at the end of the animation.

I've tested Firefox 53 and Chromium 57. Only Firefox 53 is affected.

True, I don't see a flicker in the click animation anymore. But I see a flicker in the ctrl-click/cmd-click animation - in fact I see that in both FF and Chrome. Was that always there?
