Parity-ethereum: SMS and Email account verification stuck at Request (step 3)

Created on 4 Apr 2018  路  4Comments  路  Source: openethereum/parity-ethereum

I'm running:

  • Which Parity version?: v1.9.5-20180321
  • Which operating system?: Linux
  • How installed?: via binaries .deb
  • Are you fully synchronized?: yes
  • Which network are you connected to?: ethereum
  • Did you try to restart the node?: yes

actual

The SMS account verification failed - I received the SMS (actually I received 2 sms) but the parity interface never let me enter them.

I have tried to run confirm from the ProofOfSMS contract without any luck as detailled in #7902 , I did put as argument 0x(sha3 of the sms code I received, with or without space between the words)

expected behaviour

I would like to confirm my phone number and receive true when running certified(my address)

Cheers!

The UI has definitely a bug, but the contract should work normally. There must be a problem with the way you interact with it. Can you share the step by step workflow, are you 100% sure about the sha3 and the 32 bytes you're sending?
Can you share the tx id ?

I eventually managed to interact with the contract and verify my account. The right way to do it was to generate the sha3 using the web3.utils.sha3 function. The web based sha3 calculator I used before was not returning to the same result for some unknown reason.
The UI has definitely a bug though.

Let's keep this one open, I closed other related issues.

For the record, the workaround is :
