As suggested by @han-f we should decide on a tool. Options:
I think Zoom is great! But I guess we would need someone to have a commercial subscription to use it for such long periods (the default allows 40 minutes meetings for free).
I can organise a zoom room for up to 100 people (i.e. without the 40 min. restriction). Due to my experience (and I had several teleconference per day in the last days), zoom scales best.
We have a professional Zoom account from RLI which I reserved for the two days!
The links to the expert groups don't work for me. So I leave my GitHub handle here:
@Vera-IER
I just saw that for some Zoom is forbidden. I have booked a teams meeting as an alternative, but this will also not be ideal. Link is in the etherpad. Will we be able to manage with jitsi on such short notice? @christian-rli
I just meant to post the same info as you @han-f :)
jitsi would be problematic, I think. It works well in smaller groups, but it does not scale very well :/
@christian-rli :)
we managed a Teams meeting with over 40 people recently, this worked well, but since it doesn't work with linux, this seems also no alternative.
Maybe the good old DFN will need to do?
As @l-emele has pointed out it does work for linux and the problem only occured on my computer. do you have a teams account so we could test this right now? I have another computer I could try with.
@christian-rli - yes we can try right away
I had a Teams with Arch Linux last Werk and it worked fine in Opera.
@han-f neat! Can you mail me a link / backup phone number?
@christian-rli : I sent you an invitation. There is actually also a phone number attached that can be used alternatively, if sound but not screen remains a problem, then this could solve it .
@han-f I can join, too, if you need one more datapoint.
@MGlauer : Invitations sent via email, I am in the meeting.
The links above didnt work for me either. My github handle is: @HeddaElisabethGardian
GIthub handle: @0UmfHxcvx5J7JoaOhFSs5mncnisTJJ6q
My github handle is probably: @carstenhoyerklick
My handle is @caha42
My github handle is p-kuckertz
my handle is @litotes18
@jj-author I am not an Open Data expert but I am familiar with Linked Data/Semantic Web technologies including ontologies on a technical level in the scope of the Semantic Web. so best fit probably linked-open-data-experts but maybe I can also contribute to ontology-experts ?
The meeting is over so i close this issue.
