the button allowing to sort tabs intrigued me, so I used it… to discover it had a huge impact on my 50+ tabs… I would have appreciate if a popup explaining what would happen (with a checkbox to not show this message again) would have been presented to me ;-)
be reassured, I'm not angry, I simply have been surprised.
Perhaps a less prominent position in the UX? I personally don't think confirm messages are good UI unless severe side impacts are caused as per the ones for confirm:

I agree it could be sufficient (with not only an icon, but a full label)
Undo could work as well. Press once to sort tabs, and if you press it again before you close the dialog, it'll set your tabs back as they were.
