Mastodon: Allow Muted Users To Appear In Lists

Created on 22 Mar 2019  ·  1Comment  ·  Source: tootsuite/mastodon

Pitch

When user "A" follows and mutes user "B", user A will not see user B in Home/Federated Timeline but can continue to view user's B content in the List Panel.

This can (once implemented) be done by following and muting user A then adding user B onto user's A list, where user's B content can be viewed by user A

Motivation

Anyone who's interested in an user whom posts frequently but does not wish to see it "bloat" their Home/Federated timeline

This is my case with @[email protected] who posts frequently, but I do not find joy seeing my Timelines filled by their content, instead I would rather mute @[email protected] from my Timelines, then add @[email protected] to my "Cryptocurrencies" List. This way they can be followed in an organized way.

If I read your report correctly, this is a feature request to be able to “follow” people in lists but have them not appear on the Home timeline. I changed the issue's title accordingly, feel free to change it back if my understanding isn't accurate.
