Mastodon: "opt out of bot interactions" option in preferences

Feature request: When account information is loaded through the Mastodon API, it would be nice if it showed a "nobots" value that indicated whether the user wanted to be mentioned/followed/whatever by bots or not. True or False or maybe opt in/opt out/don't care. This could be set in the preferences menu with a default value chosen by the instance admin.

they should require affirmative opt-in consent

That's what I was thinking too! Who would want to be randomly atted by a bot?

What's an example use-case for this? I don't think opt-out is the right solution for most bots鈥攖hey should require affirmative opt-in consent in some way to interact with a user.

Follow bots are the thing I was really thinking of. I've seen the #nobot tag in profiles as an unofficial standard to forbid them.

God I hope don't encourage someone to make a "random mention bot" or whatever.

That option would be very nice to see. I also would prefer a simple option in preferences instead of using #nobot in my bio (to not be followed by bot accounts).
