Mailspring: Feature request: save an email in eml format

Yes, Mac Mail.

Why need this feature?

Sometimes I receive spam messages and would like to save those spam in EML format, so I can upload to our antispam filters for training them.

Hey! Thanks for reporting this—I think we may be able to add this in the near future. The app internally works with the RCF 2822 format, we just need to allow it to be exported.

I'd also like to see this issue as I often need to attach email to other media as reference material or evidence.

Hi, just wondering if you have any update on this feature? I like Mailspring better than Thunderbird, but sometimes need to forward spam in the eml format. Also, importing/exporting eml could be handy when migrating mail server or mail client. Thanks

i actually installed mail spring today, and the lack of this feature quickly made me uninstall and go back to thunderbird

Yes. Me too. I cannot use it properly without eml export.

Tried Mailspring out. Slick interface, no .eml support. https://github.com/Foundry376/Mailspring/issues/264 Dev: "Why should a desktop email client open the most common email formats? Closed." Ok, got it. Unfortunately, very little value for any email-based workflow without .eml support. Uninstalling.
