Toggling to the "auto-hiding menubar" and restarting Mailspring appears to have no effect when running under Gnome on the newest release.

I can confirm that.

Hey folks鈥攄oes this feature typically work in Gnome? (Eg: in Atom, other Electron apps that offer this option?) I'll see if I can reproduce this locally.

Yup, works fine in Atom.

Confirm that issue.
In Atom works fine.
Gnome 3.26.2

Upd^ same for Plasma DE

I can confirm on Fedora 27 GNOME wayland blablabla. Works fine in Code, Slack and so on.

This is very, very annoying

Let me know if I can help test; works fine in other Electron apps so it's probably a very minor issue.

Ping again -- @bengotow I'd love to try to help fix this now that all my other major bugs (apart from the reply-window-keyboard-capturing) have been resolved, as it's a quality-of-life thing that works fine in other Electron apps. I'm assuming it's not getting looked at because you haven't felt like spinning up a Linux test environment, which is understandable.

Bump.

@bengotow -- still happy to troubleshoot this; it's the only minor issue outstanding for me and it's such a pain to not be able to fix this small thing.

Hey @axfelix! Sorry I dropped off this thread, my Github email is out of control :-( It looks like we've got a pull request up for this, so I'm gonna verify that fix and we'll get this resolved.
