Linuxgsm: Raspberry PI CSGO

According to this Tweet CSGO works with the Raspberry PI. This is great news if this is true. I would require someone with a Raspberry PI to test servers to see what works and a way of easily finding out. My guess is that teh CSGO server now supports ARM arch.

How can we test that ? Can we emulate ARM with virtualization ?

I'll test it out as soon as I find some time.

For future reference: People who don't have a Pi but want to emulate one can use the following QEMU emulation package: (Windows only) If you're running a Linux distro I assume you can figure out how to setup QEMU yourself.

Clickity click link.

Bear in mind that the package itself is quite old so grab yourself the latest Raspbian image from here and replace it with the one in the qemu folder. Rename the new .img to 2012-07-15-wheezy-raspbian.img so you don't have to edit it in the configuration files.

@JHulsmans Any update ? ^^

Tested it on my Raspberry B (armv67) and it's a no go. I'm having a friend test it on his Raspberry Pi 3 as we speak. @UltimateByte

Hello, I have tested this on raspberry pi 3 (armv7l) using raspbian and it does not work.

Hi @zunnu Thanks for helping us out. Seems like we'll need to go and contact Auburn_JP and have him explain what he did differently.

Roundup:

  • RaspberryPI B (armv67) => Incompatible.
  • RaspberryPI 3 (armv71) => Incompatible. (I've had my friend test it on his Raspberry Pi 3 as well same result.)

I've contacted Auburn_JP on Twitter but haven't had a response as of yet.

Feel free to join me in the effort of getting an answer.

Hi! I thought I post this here so I have not tested or bought this board yet but Im looking forward to it. I think that it might be able to run csgo server It's littlebit more expensive than raspberry pi but look better in ways that it has usb 3.0 port 1gb ethernet, ddr3 memory and Inter atom rather than armv. :)

@zunnu : Ofc it'd work, it's an X86_64 CPU. The point is to get ARM arch working.

So it's a nope ?
