I don't know if you are already working on this, but FIDE has new online titles that show up in official profiles. Those are ACM (Arena Candidate Master), AFM (Arena FIDE Master), AIM (Arena International Master) and AGM (Arena Grand Master). Those titles can be earned by playing on the official online FIDE arena with the official online FIDE rating. Wikipedia has already covered them in the titles' page so we should add them here and also allow titled players to verify their title and get the proper badge.
These titles are nothing more than a money-grab, and no online chess server will ever recognize them.
@ornicar I totally understand your point of view, however this is not opinion based. They make the rules and if we claim that lichess recognizes titled players, we need to include them. Plus, just to expand on maths a bit, 25 euros a year is not a money grab, you should ask a titled player how much he / she pays for plane tickets, hotels etc.. just to get one norm. So it's technically cheaper...
The problem with these titles is that buying them is so ridiculous, that the players doing so are a constant topic of joke among the chess community.
I will not expose these players to the mockery that would inevitably ensue if they were to show the proof of their naivety on Lichess, in the form of an arena title.
Buying an arena title is a mistake that could happen to anyone. It's best to forget about it quickly.
Wait, I thought they earned the titles, I didn't know they had to buy them... I only knew about the fide subscription fee.
